Registrar’s Evaluation
Once all required documents have been submitted and the compulsory examination has been completed, the Registrar evaluates the application and supporting materials to determine eligibility for registration. During this evaluation, the Registrar may request clarification of documents or additional information if needed to complete the assessment.
If the Application Is Approved
If the Registrar approves the application, the applicant will be invited to attend a virtual Orientation and Registration session. Registration is officially issued only after the applicant completes the Orientation and Registration session and payment for their Practice Permit fees has been received.
If the Application Is Declined
If the Registrar decides to decline the application, the applicant has the right to request a review by the Registration Committee.
Registration Committee Review
The Registration Committee will review and deliberate on the application. If the Committee upholds the decision to decline registration, the applicant may request a further review of the Committee’s decision within 30 days of receiving the Notice of Decision, in accordance with HPA section 31.
How to Request a Review of the Committee’s Decision
To request this review, the applicant must:
- Submit a written request to the Registrar
- Explain the reasons why the application should be approved, with or without conditions
- Pay the $5,000 Application Review fee, as outlined in the CDSA Permit Fee Structure
Future Re‑application
Applicants whose registration is declined may be eligible to re‑apply in the future, depending on the circumstances of the decision.
